Jorge Garcia | 100 LBS

Comedian and actor Jorge Garcia was able to change his life dramatically after he lost 100lbs in just a few years. He’s famous mainly for his TV appearances in shows like Lost, How I Met Your Mother, Hawaii Five-0, iSteve, and many more. In 2014 he weighed 400lbs and doctors warned him that if he won’t lose weight he might die. The actor took those words seriously and became vegan. He went on an entirely plant-based diet and managed to lose 100lbs. He now weighs 300lbs and he’s no longer in danger of dying.

Tom Arnold | 100 LBS

For most people, losing weight is usually a matter of becoming healthier for the sake of the family. However, comedian Tom Arnold had carved out a niche for himself as an actor with his heavyset frame. He explained that he wasn’t happy with his weight along with the complications it came with, leading him to seek a change. Following the birth of his son in 2015, he made a commitment to lose 100 pounds and he has achieved the goal. He dropped the weight in just a year by creating a good workout schedule and eating better.

Peter Kay won the hearts of many after winning Channel 4‘s So You Think You’re Funny? competition in 1997. He is, as most of us may already know, a British comedian and actor. Since 1997, for practically all these years we’ve known Kay, he has always had a few extra pounds on him. However, having been out of the spotlight for months, he was seen in December 2019, looking like a much healthier version of himself. To break it simply, Kay has gone through a decent weight loss journey, and we are waiting to hear specifics about it.

Most of you know actor Jason Segel for his starring role as Marshall Eriksen in the popular show, How I Met Your Mother. Segel was always quite chubby but when he was signed on to do the movie called S** Tape, he had to slip into a better physique. Segel started exercising regularly and he made sure his diet plan consisted of healthy meals. He was eventually able to drop about 35 pounds and become a total Hollywood hunk. In 2020, Segel will be starring in a new show called Dispatches from Elsewhere. 

Melissa McCarthy | 75 Lbs

Another funny actress who is not anymore as physically big as she used to be is Melissa McCarthy. McCarthy shared that slimming down was always such a struggle for her. When she finally did it, she revealed that it was not an easy process.

Aside from being consistent with her low-carb diet, she also made sure working out was a part of her day-to-day routine. Her hard work has paid off because she’s lost a whopping 75 pounds and is clearly looking fabulous these days. McCarthy will be starring in two new movies titled Superintelligence and The Kitchen.

Tara Reid has been creating buzz on Social Media after sharing photos of herself in a bathing suit, flaunting her extremely thin body. Despite sparking concern among her followers, Tara denies rumors of having any type of eating disorder.

She insists that she is just naturally thin and claims that she is sick of people watching her eat. The American Pie star has exposed her 85-pound shrinking body around January 2018 while vacationing in Mexico. In the same year, Tara starred alongside Mischa Barton and Dee Wallace in the supernatural horror film Ouija House, which was directed by Ben Demaree.

Peter Jackson | 80 Lbs

Peter Jackson is an established filmmaker who is the man behind famous movie franchises like The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. Jackson never really spent a lot of time working out or dieting but it eventually came to a point where he didn’t want to stay big anymore.

Jackson later decided to embark on a healthy lifestyle and less sedentary. He eventually dropped a whopping 80 pounds. Jackson is directing and producing an upcoming documentary about The Beatles which will be released in 2020. He’s also working on an upcoming movie titled The Adventures of Tintin: Prisoners of the Sun.

Mama June | 300 LBS

Anyone who was a fan of the TV show Here Comes Honey Boo Boo must have also followed Mama June’s weight loss journey. She’s inspired many by impressively losing 300 pounds first by eating healthier and working out. Shannon went from tipping the scales at 460 pounds to wearing a size four.

However, she did eventually get a gastric sleeve in 2015 and spent about $75K or even more on the procedure. She also had a skin removal procedure as well as breast augmentation. In 2017, she even got to show the world her transformation on the WE TV show Mama June: From Not to Hot, earning some bucks from shedding weight.

Kirstie Alley | 100 LBS

Kirstie Alley shed off the 50 pounds she carried back in 2004 through Jenny Craig. That same year, she launched the Fat Actress show which loosely borrowed from her own personal struggles with weight loss. She then spent ten years working as a spokesperson for Jenny Craig and eventually rejoined the program in 2014 after regaining back the weight. Once again, she dropped 100 pounds while on Dancing with the Stars and it served her well because she transformed it into a business deal. The 68-year-old Star Trek II actress has managed to keep it off and subsequently launched a series of beverages, mineral powders, and vitamins under the company Organic Liaison with Jenny.

Austin “Chumlee” Russell  | 75 LBS

Austin Russell, better known as Chumlee, rose to fame thanks to the History Channel show Pawn Stars. He was a childhood friend of Corey Harrison, the son of the Gold and Silver Pawn Shop founder. Russell started working there a few years before the show began to air on TV. Interestingly, he was always noticeably overweight. However, he decided to make some changes in 2013, which led him to start working out and improve his diet. The results were evident as he looked a lot healthier after losing approximately 73 pounds.

Britney Spears | 30 Lbs

Britney Spears became very successful at such a young age and just like any other pop star, she would always wear outfits that would highlight her figure. There came a time, however, when she had gained some unwanted pounds. But she didn’t plan to stay like that forever. What eventually made her get her old body back was a low-carb diet. She also did a lot of yoga, cardio, and core physical exertions. In April 2019, Spears couldn’t handle the tough time her sick father was going through so she checked into a facility to seek help.

Most of you know Al Roker for appearing on The Today Show as their weather anchor. Roker used to be quite big but these days, he looks like a completely different person. You can’t have a list of celebrities with the most striking weight loss transformations without having J-Hud feature on it. We became acquainted with the singer back when she was voluptuous. However, in 2010, she joined Weight Watchers and by her 4th year with the program, she had lost 80 pounds in total and was down to a size six. She not only became a siren with her new look but she earned a cool $5 million for endorsing the company’s diet program. She eventually passed over the mantle in 2014 and chose to step down as the company’s brand ambassador.

There is definitely no argument when we say Adele has one of the most spectacular voices in the music industry today. When she first rose to fame, Adele was clearly on the heavier side and she didn’t really have the best style choices. She has eventually bloomed into such a beautiful star and is often turning heads on the red carpet. Adele just stopped her bad eating habits and started consuming clean and healthy meals. Reports also say that she works out with a personal trainer, Pete Geracimo. Adele will be releasing a new album in December 2019.

In 2019, Celine Dion has been extremely active. Not only did she become a spokesperson for L’Oréal, but she also finished her long-lasting residency concert and is set to release her new album Courage as well as start her next tour called Courage World Tour, that’s expected to finish in 2020. Her fans have been extremely worried that she has lost too much weight with everything that she has been doing, especially since René passed away. But to be fair, keeping a healthy diet while being on such a tight schedule can be difficult for anyone, let alone Celine.

Rebel Wilson is a very talented actress who can effortlessly make you laugh through the different roles she portrays. She was always quite big and she was never really the type who pressured herself into being stick-thin. Nonetheless, she still did her best to get fitter over the years.

If there was anyone who grew up in a household that inspired her to chase after her dreams, then that would be Gabourey Sidibe. Her mother left a career in special education and became a street artist, and interestingly, Sidibe herself initially never wanted to get into acting. She completed her collegiate studies in psychology, and she actually snagged the titular role in the movie Precious when she was still in school. Sidibe went under the knife to lose the weight after a Type 2 diabetes diagnosis. The Empire actress ended up losing 150 pounds and she chronicled her experience in her 2017 book, This Is Just My Face: Try Not To Stare.

Keely Shaye Smith is the filmmaker and broadcast journalist who is married to Hollywood heartthrob Pierce Brosnan. Smith has gained a lot of weight over the years but these days, she actually looks like she’s gone through a serious transformation. She was able to slim down like crazy! Smith apparently lost a whopping 100 pounds and she was able to do this just by dieting and exercising. Smith and Brosnan have been married since 2001 and they have two kids together. In 2018, Smith produced and directed a documentary titled, Poisoning Paradise.

Susan Boyle | 50 Lbs

Susan Boyle is a very popular singer who is best known for competing on Britain’s Got Talent. Despite not becoming the grand champion, Boyle was still able to have a very fruitful singing career. She also managed to successfully improve her appearance and this was mainly because she embarked on a weight loss journey. Boyle had to lose weight because she discovered she had Type 2 diabetes. Hence, she decided to cut out sugar for good and started exercising. Some reports also said that she took Garcinia Cambogia pills to help her shed the pounds. She eventually became 50 pounds lighter. In 2019, Boyle joined America’s Got Talent: The Champions.

Oprah Winfrey | 26 LBS

TV star Oprah Winfrey has publicly shared her struggles with weight loss issues over the years. Being a billionaire with a busy schedule makes it easy for Winfrey to pack on the pounds. She lost 26 pounds and became a Weight Watchers spokesperson in 2015 banking as much as $65 million just by endorsing the company.

By October of that year, she bought out 10% of the company once it peaked in the stock market. However, Oprah has had a yo-yo affair with weight loss over the years and she’s recently expressed that she no longer has any interest in starting up another round of weight loss program.

Anne Hathaway has never ceased to amaze us with her versatility. For instance, the 2012 musical Les Miserables earned her numerous accolades as well as a $10-million payment. Before all that, she had to lose 25 pounds to truly bring her character, a destitute woman plagued by tuberculosis, to life.

She adopted a 500-calorie diet, did her homework about her female escort character, and she also had a short hairstyle in preparation for the role. Hathaway’s commitment to the role had her send her husband back to the U.S as they filmed in London so that she could maintain the character’s mental space.

Melissa Joan Hart | 40 LBS

The Melissa and Joey star decided to embark on a weight loss journey more to regain her self-confidence than land an endorsement deal for some extra earnings. In 2012, she took up the NutriSystem program and soon became one of its campaigners.

She shed off 40 pounds using their pre-made meals and eating plan and by 2014, she had gone down two dress sizes. It also didn’t hurt that she got an undisclosed amount out of it all but the biggest thing she got was achieving her goal of raising her confidence.

Carnie Wilson | 150 LBS

Country music singer Carnie Wilson, at one point, tipped the scales at 300 pounds. She landed a contract with Fresh Diet but it was short-lived because the company severed their ties with Wilson. She reportedly breached the contract when she got almost a third of the weight back.

However, the company was gracious enough to keep supplying her with healthy food during the time she fell back on her house payments and lost her home. Wilson might have lost out on those funds but she still had managed to lose 150 pounds prior to that with the help of a lap band surgery.

Natalie Portman | 20 LBS

The 2010 movie Black Swan won Natalie Portman a Best Actress Academy Award, and she had to shed off weight for that role. She went for a weight loss eating plan (while exercising at the same time) that would allow her to lose weight fast.

She managed to lose 20 pounds at the time as documented when they were filming the movie. It isn’t uncommon for entertainers to have to go the extra mile for roles, and Portman must have also been motivated by the $2 million she got for her performance. Portman even met her husband Benjamin Millepied on the set of the film.

Jack Black has been sharing his humor with the world for so many years now. If you have watched his movies from way back, you would know that he was never the “buff” type.

In the photos above, you can see that he somehow lost some weight over the years. Although, Black never shared if he really went on a diet program or not. It was reported in December 2018 that he has gained some weight again and he has been sporting a very thick beard. Black has a new Jumanji sequel coming out in 2019.
